Womens Refuge

For 2010 Share A Little Love has decided to give the use of its holiday home to a womans refuge. We are obliged not give the name of the refuge as they help woman and children from all over the country who have had to flee their homes because of abusive partners.

I have spoken to some of the woman at the refuge and they have told me that their ex partners have taken pleasure in trying to make their lives as difficult as possible in the hope it will force them to return. Some of the men will not even give the women their childrens toys or clothes. These families have been through a lot of trauma and really do have nothing and this is why we decided to give the holiday home to the refuge so that these families would be able to have some joy in their lives.

Unfortunately abuse in the home is a regular occurrence for a lot of women from all different backgrounds and you would probably be surprised who it is happening to. Many of the women suffer in silence and are afraid to leave. The womens refuge offers a much needed safe haven for these women and their children.

If you would like to help a womans refuge in your area maybe you would like donate some toys. Contact your local council and they will be able to give you the information you need.

The value of the holidays given for the whole of 2010 is sixteen thousand pounds

Our Competition WINNER for the Caribbean Cruise

The Competition Winner for the Caribbean Cruise is Miss Natasha Deeprose from East Sussex Her partner Mark who is only 26 years old and never been away before has been fighting cancer for the last 2 years, during which time Marks father also passed away. Below is a copy of their email sent to us after we told them the good news about their win!

Dear Frankie
First of all, Mark and I would like to say a big big thank you, it still does not seem real if we're honest!
We would also like to apologise for how quiet we were on the phone, we were just very awestruck and speechless as after the past year that we've had to receive news of this kind just feels very emotional and strange! we hope that you do not think that we were being rude or ungrateful, it was just a very big shock as this type of news is what dreams are made of, and we never thought that it would happen to us!
Once again, thank you so much for making this Christmas so very special for both of us, this time last year Mark was still in hospital and I spent half of my day travelling to and from him, but nothing in this world would have stopped me being by his side for Christmas, this year I had Mark at home which was so very very special, and to receive this new was fab, it means that we're going to be able to get away together and have some quality time together for the first time since we got together
I really can not thank you enough, but I do from the bottom of my heart. Natasha and Mark.

We are happy to say that Natasha and Mark will be flying to Barbados during November 2009 to board their cruise liner for seven days where they will then travel to Tobago, Isla Margarita, St Lucia, Mayreau, Grenada and then back to Barbados. All of us here at Share a Little Love wish them a truly fantastic time!
